This weekend I made a change to the listings I have for various deaths in the county as collected from newspaper obituaries and microfilm records for time periods not covered by the already existing collections (the Obituary indexes and funeral home records).
I have used an online database creation tool, DabbleDB, to generate a dynamic list of records. Using DabbleDB allows me to use an online form to create the list rather than coding it in HTML. It also lets me do it in a way that I don’t need to really mess with database commands – it’s great! I use DabbleDB to help me manage my own genealogy book resources that I consult and I’ve had good experiences with it.
The biggest drawback to doing it this way (in my own opinion), is that the Google Search I have on the site will not be able to pick these particular records up in the search. But, I have added a disclaimer to the Search page about this, so hopefully people will consult this list as well.
