The Blount Journal is publication of the Blount County Genealogical & Historical Society. Each time I go to the state archives here in Nashville to make note of the contents in the journal in order to categorize the articles. It is my hope that by doing so, I can help raise awareness of the rich genealogical content in this publication, particularly so that others who may not have ready access are able to know what has been published.
The categorization does not include every article in the publication, for example, queries and surnames of names researched. If you would like a copy of any of the articles, I would highly suggest you contact your local library’s interlibrary loan department. Often, a public library is able to obtain a copy for you either free of charge or for very reasonable costs.
Past issues are also available for sale from the Society.

The Blount County Genealogical and Historical Society aka “BCGHS” has a web page where the contents of back issues are listed. Please refer to http://www.blountcountytngenealogy.org for information.
Hi Connie,
Thanks for the comment. Yes, I was aware the back issue contents are online – I have a link to it in the post. Thanks to the Society for all that you do!
Hi,
I noticed you have a Cox Family Summary that was printed in your Spring 2000 Issue. I believe that was written & submitted by Mr. Allen Jeffries of Blount County (A Cox descendant)…
I also noted a mention of a copyright for articles that appear in your Journal & wondered if it’s something that is enforced if published on the internet without some type of credit or acknowledgment?
I have found a # of instances where Mr. Jeffries paper has been used by other descendants in copies of their own webpages without any attribution as to the source; and noone ever seems to call a copyright violator on the issue.
Thanks,
DCox
