A serious and what might have proved to be a fatal acciden occurred on the Niles Ferry Road about two miles west of town on Friday night of last week. Our local Furniture Dealer and Undertaker Ed F. Harper was out driving with his wife and little son, where they were run into by a boggy driven by a boy, who must have been asleep, as Mr. Harper pulled his vehicle clear out of the road. His buggy was overturned and his wife, boy and himself were dumped into the road, the horse then proceeded to demolish the buggy, dragging Mr. and Mrs. Harper some distance, dislocating his shoulder and breaking Mrs. Harper’s arm. The little boy was not injured. It was a very narrow escape from death. People should be more careful when driving along the public highway.
